Why would I cut my neck blank in half?
...To laminate it.  This will not only add beauty but also strenth and stability.   The dark color laminate is Wenge and the light color wood in the middle is curly maple.  Cedar is seldom used for necks because it is so light.  The neck of a guitar endures tremendous forces yet there is no tolerance for warping.  Otherwise, the instrument will loose intonation and playability.  Stay tuned to see other measures I will take to give this neck the strength is will need.
I love my clamps.
